Donating to the Loudoun County Animal Shelter

We donated 150 pounds of natural dog food, milk bones and rawhides to the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. This was our first year donating and we were surprised they had a tree with lots of gifts for the residents. I’m glad people remember the orphan animals for the holidays.

We wrangled with our decision on which  food to donate.  For the last year, we’ve switched our dog to only natural products and he’s been much healthier and happier.  He use to have bad allergies and skin rashes and those have disappeared. He’s also eating less – feeling more full – and loosing weight.  We have reverted his diet back to his carnivore roots.  So, we donated 3 big bags of Before Grain Chicken #1.

We have a new holiday tradition, and we are continuing to gather donations for shelter. They are in need of towels for the dogs. This is an easy way to give back, its only hard to not come home with another dog.
